Threema

In 2012, three young software developers from Switzerland decided to create a a secure mobile messaging application they could use to communicate with their friends.

The aim was to build an app that’s designed from the ground up to protect the users’ privacy – an app that stores as little data as possible and prevents surveillance and data misuse.

The app was called “EEEMA”, an abbreviation of “End-to-End Encrypted Messaging Application”.

Later, the three “E”s were replaced with “Three”, and it became “Threema”.

The founders had no idea they were at the forefront of a movement. Three years later, the app had attracted more than 3.7 million users.

He defined Microsoft’s unified communications strategy (Skype for Business) and as head of collaboration services at ThomsonReuters introduced federated communications to the financial services industry.

Before founding Perzo/Symphony, he was VP and GM of Skype’s Enterprise Business.

Ram Menon

Ram brings over two decades of experience in enterprise software.

The frustration with accessing enterprise information and getting work done using his primary device, a smartphone prompted him to found Avaamo.

Previously Ram was the President of Social Computing at TIBCO. He founded the division and built the business from scratch into a leader in Social Business Software with 9 Million paid users in just two years.

Earlier in his stint at TIBCO, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for eight years, leading the company’s marketing and product strategy efforts to support growth from $200M -$1B.

Prior to joining TIBCO, Ram was with Accenture, a global consulting firm, where he specialized in supply chain and e-commerce strategy consulting with Global 500 companies.

Dr. Dorian Selz is co-founder and CEO of Squirro.

Before that he founded the Swiss search platform local.ch and made it the market leader in four years.

Previously he was a partner and COO at Namics, the largest e-business consultancy in Switzerland & Germany.

He holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen and a Master in Economics form the University of Geneva.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration.
